Sardine Sentinel: The Amphibious Voyager
This is the original Sentinel piece, a striking work of Primitive Conceptual Sculpture that examines the theme of forced evolution and mechanical adaptation. It imagines a future where common aquatic life must adapt rough, mammalian features to survive in a harsh, industrial world.
The Conceptual Deconstruction
The sculpture features the humble fish body (suggestive of a sardine's form) augmented with four heavy, land-bearing legs and a distinctively human ear. The row of red, geometric cabochons embedded along the flank transforms the organic form into a kind of submersible or primitive automaton, hinting at mechanical intervention and the burden of unnatural survival. The overall form suggests an ancient creature, unearthed and ready to trek across a toxic landscape.Dimensions:
